Our international missions outreach began in 2021, guided by our previous parochial vicar, Fr. Mike Mitchell, whose work as a missionary in Haiti and Guatemala provided direct connections to our outreach opportunities.
OUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT of the works of mercy in these highly impoverished areas helps to alleviate suffering and bring Christ's message of hope, love, and salvation to so many.
El Carmen Mission is located in southeast Guatemala, in a mountainous village of 1,200 people. Many have migrated to this area to work in the coffee bean harvesting industry.
Since 2022, our annual summer mission trip has focused on sharing Jesus' love with our sisters and brothers in this highly impoverished area through critical home repairs, home visits, providing basic health and school supplies, and bringing the Good News of Jesus through Bible school and daily Mass. Supplies and funding are provided through our Christmas Giving Tree, Amazon wish lists, and designated financial gifts.
A new church for El Carmen: We are also praying for and sharing the need for additional funding to complete a new church building for El Carmen. The existing church is too small and has suffered some structural damage. Funding for half of the church construction has been generously provided by private donations. The new church will serve the spiritual needs of the region and provide additional economic stability, as people travel to El Carmen for worship events.

A $10 donation will provide one month of lunches for 1 child: rice, beans, and occasional protein.
