The Missionaries of Charity (founded by St. Teresa of Calcutta) offer services and care to the "poorest of the poor" in our community.
Mira Via provides residential and social services for pregnant mothers and their children as they move toward independent and healthy living. Learn more here.
Hope of Life (Esperanza de Vida) provides guidance for an improved quality of life for Hispanic children in our parish and community who struggle with mental or physical disabilities, illness or disorders and have little to no resources.
Our parish efforts are focused on helping those in hard-hit Swannanoa, NC (St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church) and Boone, NC (St. Elizabeth Catholic Church) with cleanup and rebuilding, including a mobile home community where 30+ homes were flooded. Learn more here.

Two weekends each month, seminarian and St. Gabriel parishioner Matthew Hennessy leads volunteers in visiting and praying with our homeless neighbors in uptown Charlotte, providing small essentials. Learn more here.
Catholic Charities welcomes newly arrived refugee families - victims of war, political upheaval, religious, economic or ethnic persecution - to Charlotte, providing comprehensives to help them adapt and becoming self-sustaining and productive members of the community. Learn more here.
Parishioners and community members in crisis who contact us for help are referred to Catholic Charities Social Services or Safe Alliance (for victims of domestic violence) to receive the comprehensive services they need.
