The Missionaries of Charity
If you enjoy working with children, have time available on a weekday morning, and want to serve in a meaningful way, please prayerfully consider volunteering. Prior tutoring experience is helpful but not necessary.
Who: Adults
What: Provide literacy tutoring to grades 1-5 students. Materials and guidance are provided.
Where: OLA Catholic School, 4225 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte, NC
When: 8:30 - 10:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, OR Wednesday mornings (choose one or more days). Volunteers ideally commit to the entire semester one day a week.
Volunteers must complete Protecting God’s Children training and Safe Environment requirements.

Our support of the Missionaries of Charity in Charlotte includes helping with their afterschool program with teen and adult homework helpers.
Who: Teens and adults
What: Provide homework help to grades 1 to 8 students
Where: Missionaries of Charity afterschool program, 1625 Glenn Street, Charlotte, NC
When: 3:30 - 5:30 pm Mondays, Tuesdays ,and Wednesdays when Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools are in session
Adult volunteers must complete Protecting God’s Children training and Safe Environment requirements.

The Missionaries of Charity (founded by St. Teresa of Calcutta) serve the poorest of the poor, including those in Charlotte. Through our monthly food drive, Giving Tree, Christmas food baskets, and financial support, we help the Missionaries of Charity address hunger and food insecurity in our community.
