Letter from the Fr. Frank O'Rourke Retirement Gift Committee

Dear St. Gabriel Parishioners,

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace…” This is the memorable first line of the St. Francis Prayer known to Catholics around the world. At St. Gabriel, these are the words used often by Fr. Frank O’Rourke to begin a prayer to start a meeting.

As most of you know, our pastor, Fr. Frank, will retire in the middle of October. As a parish, we want to show him our love, respect and appreciation. We invite you to participate in the following activities planned to honor not only his 44 years as a priest, but the 12 years he has served our St. Gabriel community.

Parish Retirement Gift

We would like to surprise Fr. Frank with a monetary gift for his retirement to use as he wishes. If you would like to participate by giving to the Fr. Frank O'Rourke Retirement Gift.

Because this is a personal gift, it is NOT tax deductible.

Gift made be made by check, payable to St. Gabriel Church with "FOR retirement" in the memo. Place them in the collection basket in a separate ENVELOPE CLEARLY MARKED "FOR Retirement", drop off at the church office, or mail to the church at 3016 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC 28211.

GIFT DEADLINE: Thursday, October 10. The gift will be presented to Fr. Frank at his retirement reception Friday, October 11.
