Welcome & Hospitality

Welcome and hospitality volunteers strengthen our community of faith by providing a warm welcome to all and a point of contact for visitors, prospective church members and members before and after weekend Masses.  This easy but meaningful ministry helps build our community of faith by helping all who worship with us feel welcome. Questions?  Contact Karen Brown by email or at 704-362-5047 x 214.

Welcome one another, then, as Christ welcomed you, for the glory of God."
(Romans 15:7)

Children (accompanied by parents), teens and adults of all ages are encouraged to volunteer.  Volunteers arrive 15 minutes before Mass and stand in the church arthex, extending a warm smile and a "hello" to people as they arrive.

Contact Maureen Benfield if you would like to serve as a greeter.

Welcome Table Volunteers

Adults who have a love of our parish and a smiling face are needed.  Volunteers stay 15 minutes after Mass and staff the narthex Welcome Table, answering visitor/member questions and providing registration information to newcomers.  Volunteer regularly or occassionally.  If your busy schedule means that you don't always attend the same Mass, simply help at the Mass you attend that weekend.  No need to sign-up in advance.

Contact Maureen Benfield if you would like to serve.

  2. Leave church after Communion.

Other than a quick hello to people you already know, please leave yourself available to talk with newcomers.
  2. Use the follow-up form to record questions the staff needs to respond to – things you don’t know the answer to.
Please don’t answer questions about church policies or matters of faith, sacraments, marriage, etc.   Use the follow-up form.

    1. Offer them a Welcome Folder (only for those interested in registering)
    2. Let them know about our quarterly Welcome Mass/Brunch, which they’ll receive details about after registering.

  3. Return any leftover Welcome Folders to the sacristy & record the number handed out.
