Prayer Groups
Centering Prayer and Lectio DivinaOur Centering Prayer group meets Mondays at noon in the Family Room of the church building. We begin with 20 minutes of Centering Prayer and a very brief responsorial prayer service, followed by Lectio Divina. Margie Mullis, at 704-364-6874 or by email, leads our Centering Prayer, and Judy O’Toole leads us in Lectio Divina. Please contact Margie if you would like additional information. Liturgy of the HoursLiturgy of the Hours is offered by the Laity in the form of Christian Prayer. Prayer books are provided for this prayer period and instructions will be given by those who are leading. These rich prayers of the Church are prayed daily before the daily Masses. Contact Jerry Schmugge at 704-364-7004 or by email. Perpetual AdorationOur Blessed Sacrament Chapel is open 24 hours a day. It is located in our church building, accessed from the far left side of the courtyard. All are welcome anytime! Regularly scheduled adorers commit to an hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. The greatest need is from 10 pm to 6 am daily. To become a regularly scheduled Adorer, please contact Estelle Wisneski at 704-364-1629 or by email. |
Rosary GroupsThe Fatima Rosary Group has been part of St. Gabriel for over 40 years. It meets Mondays at 1:30 pm at a different house each week, noted inside the first page of the bulletin. In addition to the Rosary, the group prays the St. Gertrude prayer, the St. Peregrin prayer, Litany of Loretto, Divine Mercy and for petitions. The prayers last for about one hour, often followed by a social hour and light refreshments. For information, please contact Suzanne Sansone at 704-365-2471. The Rosary Group meets Monday through Friday in the Daily Chapel following the 8:45 am Mass. For more information, please contact Judi Bainbridge by email. The Respect Life Rosary Group meets in the Chapel after the 10:45 am Mass, on the first Sunday of every month, to pray the Respect Life Rosary. The Scriptural Rosary is a very thought-provoking meditation Rosary recitation.
