Welcome

Dear Parishioners, Greetings and Peace!
Do you see what I see . . . Do you hear what I hear? The beauty of Christmas 2011 was given full expression here at St. Gabriel. The good stewardship of many, expressed in generous sharing of time, talent and treasure blessed our parish and enabled us to provide for the needs of many who came to us with their special need. I pray you are blessed in your generosity! Thank you!Join me in thanking: Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, Ministers of Hospitality, Ushers, Musicians, Cantors, Choirs, the Art & Environment Ministry and those who donated to the Flower Fund, the Altar Society, Collection Counters, Catechists, Sacristans, Faith Formation Teachers, Aides and Students, Confirmation Class Clothing Drive Participants, Students and Helpers, our Christian Mother’s Group (CMG) Giving Tree Coordinators and Gift Givers, the Hispanic Ministry, St. Gabriel School Faculty, Staff, and Children, Youth Ministry Outreach, Groundskeepers, those who minister to the Homeless, videographers, St. Vincent de Paul Food Basket Ministry, St. Gabriel Men’s Club Christmas Tree buyers and sellers. Thank you! Many have been generous in sharing their treasure. This supports our many efforts to share the Good News that “God is with us” in this blessed season and throughout the year. Thank you!

There is great effort put forth throughout the year to keep the Good News alive. Many parishioners serve on Councils, Boards and Committees. It is their vision of ministry that makes so much of what we see and hear possible in every season of the year. Thank you!

A parish is a community of faith and like a family, we do not want to overlook the good works of those who day in and day out keep the ‘home fire burning. Our staff keeps us focused on who we are and what we are about. Their spirit, dedication and generosity truly bless me and all of us. Thank you!

Yes, it does take many faith-filled and generous people joining together, counting and sharing blessings to create a community of faith. I hope you, too, count yourself blessed to share life in faith at St. Gabriel. Let us recommit ourselves to praying with and for one another. May we journey in openness, knowing always that “God is with us”.

May the New Year offer us many opportunities to lift mind and heart to the Lord in prayerful praise to the Lord.

With gratitude,
Reverend Francis J. O’Rourke
Pastor
